New season launch

Backstage announce bumper new season & user-friendly website.

Backstage Theatre has just announced a jam-packed season of events along with a brand new user-friendly website. As well as a host of new shows, the revamped backstage.ie offers improved functionality and navigation, enhancing the online experience for customers.  The website features more background information on shows and activities as well as a language translator and accessibility feature for those with visual impairment or sensory issues. Featuring a comprehensive guide to all the shows taking place this Spring – including the very best in theatre, gigs, comedy and kids shows – the new brochure is available to pick up at Backstage, as well as locations all over Longford, and can also be viewed or downloaded on the newly refurbished backstage.ie.

Audiences can look forward to outrageous comedies such as Danti Dan from Livin Dred, How to Get The Menopause and Enjoy It with Ann Gildea of The Nualas fame, Jon Kenny and Norma Sheahan’s production of The Matchmaker, and GomBean directed by Seamus O’Rourke.  Some of Ireland’s leading theatre companies will be treading the boards at Backstage in 2023 including Rough Magic’s Tonic, Fishamble’s King by Pat Kinnevane, and Decadent’s From a Low and Quiet Sea with Donal Ryan. And if that’s not enough, Backstage Theatre Group and Mostrim Players shine a light on local talents with Sive and Tom Foolery at the Folly respectively.

Families are in for a treat with Peter Panto from Backstage Youth Theatre spreading some joy this January, Kyle Riley returns with his music concert for 0-8 year olds and RTE Junior’s Joe Daly will wow with his magical illusion show.  Primary schools have two shows to choose from with Theatre Lovett’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic (ages 5+ and their teddy bears welcome!) and Adole-TA! for ages 3-6.

Michael Harding is proving as popular as ever with tickets already moving fast. Music lovers have lots to choose from with Gina and the Champions kicking off the season and Pilgrim Street, Jack L, Mattie Fox, Patrick Feeney, Declan Nerney and Philomena Begley all taking to the stage throughout Spring.

This is just a little taster of what’s in store, the full line up and more information as well as tickets and gift vouchers are all available on 043 33 47888 and the newly refurbished backstage.ie.
