Backstage Auditorium can accommodate up to three wheelchairs spaces for each show. If you or a member of your group requires a wheelchair space please contact the box office at the time of booking.

There are also three wheelchair parking spaces located in the lower car park directly outside the theatre door.

In our on-going efforts to make Backstage more accessible, we are delighted to offer those with hearing loss, access to a new range of Assisted Listening Devices. This system will enable audience members to hear speech and sound from the main stage regardless of where they are seated in our auditorium.

The receivers resemble a small radio that communicates using, magnetic waves, via (1) headphones. The headphones can be worn to provide amplified sound directly to the wearer. Alternatively, an (2) infrared receiver linked to a portable induction loop worn around a person’s neck, will transmit amplified sound via their hearing aid/cochlear implant.

We have five of each units available.  Simply ask at the box office on the night of a show or pre-book by emailing us in advance

Making your experience as comfortable as possible

If you or any of your party would like to arrange to visit our space before a performance to become familiar with the surroundings and take away the unknown element, please feel free to contact us in advance to arrange a visit during office hours.

Where possible, we are happy to provide audience members with a quite space should they need it during a performance. Simply email us in advance to request it or request at time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate you.

We are working together with our Equity, Diversity and Integration Consultant Tatiana Santos and EDI Project worker Emer Tyrrell to help to spread the word that Backstage is your theatre. We want everyone to feel welcome and want our audience to reflect our diverse community.
