Junior Ambassador Panel 26/27
Do you know a young person passionate about the arts and creativity? We are looking for a number of children to join our Backstage Theatre Junior Ambassador Panel.
The Junior Ambassador Panel will get a chance to learn about how Backstage Theatre works and to contribute ideas to ensure that all children feel welcome, heard and represented in Backstage.The children will be invited to attend shows and creative workshops throughout the year led by Backstage artist in residence, Maisie Lee.
Members will meet regularly to:
– Take part in workshops and arts activities. These workshops will focus on a number of creative areas and skills, as well as exploring children’s rights and contributing ideas to Backstage Theatre’s programme and associated artists.
– Attend shows and creative events
– Meet new friends and have fun!
An initial ‘Creative Bootcamp’ for all participants will take place in Backstage on March 30th and 31st.
Monthly meetings will then take place from May. Initial meetings are scheduled for Saturday 23rd May, Saturday 27th June and August 12th & 13th. The panel will run until June 2027.
Participants in the Junior Ambassador’s Panel should:
– be starting 4th or 5th class in September 2026
– be available to attend the Creativity Bootcamp March 30th and 31st
– available to attend monthly workshops from May 2026 to June 2027
Participation is free but spaces are limited.
How to sign up
The deadline to submit the application form is March 19th
Application forms should be filled out by a parent or guardian with the child present. We will ask for basic contact details that should take no more than 5 minutes to complete. The most important part of the application is a creative response from the child to the prompt “Show us something creative that you have seen or done that you found exciting.”
The response can be a drawing, painting, short piece of writing or even a video. The child’s artwork should be uploaded by an adult.
An application form should be filled out for each child applying.
