A host of late night music, comedy, dance and public art in Longford Town


First Fridays is a brand new jam-packed programme of late night music, comedy, dance and public art on the First Friday of every month in Longford Town.

This exciting new venture will run from April to October and is brought to you by Backstage Theatre in partnership with Longford County Council, with funding support from the Arts Council and Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

First Fridays is about bringing people into our town to enjoy a ‘no hassle’ night of enjoyment and entertainment in pubs and venues in Longford Town.

Emily is a 23 year old singer/songwriter who writes acoustic/indie songs with hints of pop. She is currently studying music in Dublin where she solo gigs regularly & also collaborates with other musicians to perform.

She takes inspiration from a wide range of artists such as Niall Horan, Dolly Parton, Olivia Rodrigo and Arctic Monkeys.

 She is currently working towards getting her original music released and is excited to progress in the music industry.  @emilydoyle204

OMEN

Omen is a joint creative endeavour consisting of Siofra Jordan, Conor Lane and Shane Kennedy.

Together they blend their varied influences into a new original sound through multi instrumental arrangements and vocal harmonies.

Siofra Jordan is a respected singer songwriter and collaborator who performs as Feef as a solo artist and has had great success with her releases “Run”, “Who Are You” and

“Those Were The Days” – and has been part of many of successful bands nationwide including Blind Fox and The Waggamuffins. Siofra is a vocalist and multi instrumentalist and songwriter and it was through Siofra that OMEN was conceived.

Conor Lane is a renowned instrumentalist and highly regarded in the Traditional/Irish Folk scene and in recent years has become a talented Jazz and Blues musician. He is a multi-instrumentalist, playing Whistle,Flute,Pipes,Harmonica, Saxophone, Clarinet, Guitar and Bouzouki and has featured on many traditional records. 

Shane Kennedy is a multi instrumentalist from Longford but works mostly as a guitarist. His influences vary from Patsy Cline to John Coltrane to Lou Reed. Shane plays guitar and arranges music alongside Conor and Siofra as a songwriting team.

Brianis a folk singer-songwriter from Longford, Ireland. Kiernan writes wistful, narrative songs drawing from his lived experience, looking at situations through a comedic lense. He blends genres like Baroque pop with his traditional Irish music roots.  His influences include The Thrills, Andy Shauf, The Strokes and Leonard Cohen.
